The Medicine Wheel OF LIFE The Medicine Wheel is a walk that all people walk whether they realize it or not. It is something that is as automatic as breathing. The question is, how to use it as it was intended.The physical representation of the wheel is EAST: Infancy New Birth, SOUTH:Youth Growth, WEST: Adult Spirituality, and NORTH: Elders Knowledge: WE follow the seasons for our physical Living and ceremonies, but our spiritual selves walks the opposite, EAST,NORTH,WEST,SOUTH: First, you must accept some truths that may be a little hard at first. (You are the Medicine wheel even as you walk it. You are the Medicine, The wheel is a mirror, you are the mirror, as well as the reflection.) You are part of everything and everything is a part of you. ANYTHING you think or do will and does change the world around you. Second, in this life we are given a very powerful tool to evolve spiritually and survive physically. This tool is the power of Choice. (You are where you are right now spiritually and physically because of your choices, no one else’s.) There are 3 choices we can make. (1) We can choose to live a pure, good spiritual life. (Feed the White Wolf) (2) We can choose to live an evil dark spiritual life, (Feed the dark Wolf) (3) We can choose to live a life completely in the flesh. (which will lead to a dark evil spiritual life in the long run.) Out of these choices ALL other choices originate. You make the choices that either affirm or deny your life. You choose to take care of yourself or not to. You choose to say things about others that is honoring or dishonoring. YOUR INDIVIDUAL CHOICES COMBINE IN THE SPIRIT AND BECOME YOUR REALITY IN THE PHYSICAL. With these choices come the physical battles of good and evil which cause the battles of Good and evil spirits/ Angels and demons (ect.) Third, these choices lead us into what is the basis of our power, emotions. There are two emotions. (1) LOVE (Good Spirit-Spiritual mind/ White wolf)(Compassion,Peace,Joy,Happiness,Well Being,Lust for things of the spirit) (2) FEAR (Logical mind-Evil Spirit-Dark wolf)(Hate,Chaos,Illness,Lust for things of the flesh) Story of the two wolves. Condensed. Creator put two wolf spirits in us when we were created. A white good Wolf And a Dark evil wolf. They constantly are fighting for control. The one you feed is the one that wins. The medicine wheel in all traditions I know, have 4 gates or doors, directions. Each door or direction is represented by a color, a spirit or guardian, an animal, plant, stone. The position of the colors may vary and some may have a green or blue but the wheel itself is used the same and for the same purpose, to bring the people back to Grandfather the Creator. The wheel is a spiritual map that was meant to help guide us back to walking in the oneness with the Creator and the creation. As stated, you walk and work the medicine wheel even when you do not intend to.It does not matter what your beliefs are, Protestant, Catholic, Christian, Baptist, Muslim,you walk the wheel with every choice,thought,or action you have. The Medicine wheel is a circle of many circles, and man is a circle among these circles. You are the medicine wheel and the medicine. The medicine wheel is made up of gates or doors, seven realms or worlds. GATES EAST: Guardian Spirit is Wabun Monato Is a place of new beginnings, Infancy, A new dawn or day, new ideas, new life both spiritually and physically, new birth, Planting, spring time. The Direction of the Creator, the place where ALL possible futures reside. The color of this direction is RED. This is the rising sun, or sunrise.Everything that comes from the East does not mean it is a good thing. The east is the direction of NEW things only. GO NORTH: Guardian Spirit is Kiwii Den Monato Color White: Place of the Elders: This is the place to gain Knowledge and Understanding, Place of Learning: Gaining Strength, Survival: the Great white bear resides here. We go to this direction for knowledge and understanding of the things we gained in the east. (All New Beginnings and Ideas are not always good.) WEST: Guardian Spirit is Kilsqua Monato Color Black, Adult, place of the Spirits: Place of the Medicine Bear who’s Healing is for Both (Spiritual and Physical), Most physical illness is from a spiritual sickness, place of spiritual soul searching, a place where we examine the new gifts of the east with knowledge and understanding of the north to determine if the gift is applied spiritual or physical, good or bad. If good but physical we apply it to the physical, if spiritual we apply it spiritually, if bad we burn it off at the roots in the south before it takes a hold of us. SOUTH: Guardian Spirit is Shawan Monato: Color Yellow: Place of Youth: Place of things planted taking root, Growth, also things being burnt off that do not take root. This is the place where we water and feed the gifts of the east so they will take root in our spirit and grow. This is also the place where we DO NOT water or feed the things in our life that is bad and need to be gotten rid of. The south sun is both a spiritual and physical cleansing fire. 7 REALMS or WORLDS of the WHEEL To Understand the Wheel and its worlds or realms, you must first understand that the wheel is a duel entity, it is both spiritual and physical. It is like a number 8, It is connected, one side to the other, Spiritual (counterclockwise) To the Physical (clockwise) One is the mirror of the other. We are a duel entity we are spiritual of a spiritual mind and body, and also physical with a physical, logical mind and body and we are connected physical to the spirit and spirit to the physical. Our Spirit and spiritual mind has been silenced and imprisoned by the Logical, physical mind. There has been many attempts to free the spirit and return to duality of one to no avail.The devices created to become more spiritual was done so by the very logical mind that imprisoned the spirit to start with. A long time ago, our world was different from the way it is today, our ancestors lived close to nature. They knew the language of the rain, the crops, the language of all creation, as well as the language of the Creator. They even knew the language of the stars and star people. They were very aware of the sacredness of life and that it came from a union between them, our sacred mother and the Creator. There was balance and happiness. No one knows exactly when or why but the people began to forget who they were. They began to feel separated from the earth, each other and the Creator. They became spiritually lost and wondered without direction or connection. They began to live using logic and living for the flesh. Even though the spirit was imprisoned there was and is a small part of the logical brain that remains connected to the spirit. It is manifested in the dreams. As the people tried to remember who they were they built things on the outside to represent who they were on the inside. This caused them to wonder further from spirit and their inner power. Their lives become more and more complicated and cluttered and more empty. Yet the desire to reconnect was still there, causing them to try to fill the void created by the disconnection from nature, each other and the Creator. We are those people, we are the ancestors. We have become trapped in the 1/st world or realm of the medicine wheel. There are some who have heard the voice of spirit and are seeking to reunite with spirit and cast off the bondage of the logical mind and flesh. !/st World of the wheel. This is the world of the walking dead. This is today and now. This is where most of society live. This is the Realm of the Dark Wolf/ Evil spirit. This is a world of FEAR - VOID- EMPTINESS, Logic and spiritual chaos Drugs- Violence and money are used to try to gain power and control over others to fill the emptiness This Realm is controlled by the Flesh and the Logical mind. This is where we deal with all other egos of everyone around us INCLUDING our own.This is where pass judgement on things as good or bad, We create ways to try to fill the emptiness by controlling other people by sucking them dry of their energy.(Where your attention goes your ENERGY flows.)People in this realm get a slight spiritual high by gaining control over another persons energy. You might say an energy vampire. Have you ever been around a person who literally drains you of energy, or someone who makes you feel good without saying or doing anything? The one drains you, the other feeds you. You do the same with or with out knowledge of it. In this realm the logical mind has pushed the spiritual mind out and imprisoned it. 2/cd World of awakening The ones who cross to this realm are driven by the nagging feeling that there is more to life than the flesh and logic. They realize that what they have experienced in the 1/st realm is not the true spiritual energy they need. But, we still are heavily influenced and controlled by the realm of the Dark wolf. (Logical mind and Flesh) In this world we are beginning to hear the voice and the pull of the spirit stronger and louder. 3/rd World of Spirit that lives/connects and moves in ALL things: World of the herbalist, those who connect with, understand and speak the language of Nature and Creation. This is the realm where we belong (Our Birthright) and should live in. In this realm, the flesh or logical mind is quieted–the dark wolf is controlled by the spiritual mind through choice and what is called the Sacred Silence. We become a duality of Spirit and flesh, have a deeper contact with our self, our TRUE emotions and memories. Here we communicate with the spirit of nature, creation and the world of spirits. 4/th: World of Understanding/Communicating: This realm we are understanding and communicating with the worlds of the wheel, of the spirits and nature. The messages of spirit are clearer and less distorted by the logical mind. We master/perfect, and use the language of God /Universe/ Nature/Spirits.This is a language of no words, It is a language of the heart. We see and hear communications from the spirit through signs,symbols,dreams,feelings, visions.This is the language of the heart,We communicate back in the same language.We create pictures of our desires or prayer in our logical mind,Fuel it with the emotion of LOVE or FEAR,this creates the feeling that becomes our prayer, it goes to the world of spirit,becomes a manifestation, returns to you and becomes your reality. 5/th :World of Spirit: This realm or world, is where our spiritual self walks, the spirit self of all people and the spirits of those who walked in the flesh before us. Here we find the wisdom of the unseen and eternal. Here we find ALL knowledge of the past,as well as ALL possible futures Here is where our thoughts and choices are manifested then becomes our reality. Here we find a wisdom that can never be known by the flesh or the logical mind. 6/th :World of the Madalwen/Shaman/Medicine People: The medicine people are ones who have transcended the flesh and logical mind and lives equally in both worlds, spirit and flesh. This is the realm of those who have reached a pure spiritual mind. A medicine person is the spiritual light at the end of a long dark tunnel and is a vital player in leading others to this path. They know and live the language of the creator and the creation: The Shaman/Medicine people are the spiritual healers,they heal from the realm of spirits. They heal from distances without physical contact to the one receiving the healing, and a lot of times without them being aware of the healing taking place until it is done. Those who walk in this world does so with no advertisement of who or what they are. They are talked about by those who have been helped. 7/th :World of Creator/Grandfather/God: It is in this world that we find OURSELVES. We reach these realms by first making a CHOICE to listen to that nagging feeling we have in realm one about there being a better way. We then CHOOSE to quiet our logical mind so we can hear the spiritual communication coming from our spirit. (Sacredness of Silence)You might say Sacred Silence is the tool that moves us to these realms of the wheel. CHOICE Emotion- LOVE- fuels thoughts which creates a feeling, a feeling is a union between emotion and thought BELIEF/FAITH- Union of thought and emotion/ Is the code, that translates possibilities into reality. Words of a great prophet: All things that you ask straightly, directly from inside my name you will be given. You have not done this. So ask without hidden motive, Be surrounded by your answer, be enveloped by what you desire, that your gladness be full.
